Occasionally specialized care in a secure environment is needed. This specialized care is available for neighbors with memory loss in two distinct care options.
Skilled Nursing – Sommerlyst Neighborhood
Individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia have unique needs that may present special caregiving challenges. We provide aid and support for family members to help in dealing with the stressors associated with their caregiving challenges. Private and semi-private rooms, in skilled nursing, in this secure neighborhood ensure comfort and safety. Activities are planned in individual and group settings to engage all levels of cognition.
Sommerlyst has been designed to promote togetherness. All paths lead to a central comfortable living room. This serves as a gathering place for conversation or for enjoying activities or snacks. There is also a secure courtyard available for those wanting to go outside. The lodge-style dining room provides both warmth and coziness for dining and other activities in a secure private setting.
Memory Care Assisted Living – Evergreen Neighborhood
This new home is the only, one of its kind, in Northeast Colorado! The Evergreens Assisted Living offers the security of memory care in an assisted setting. All private rooms, outdoor courtyard with water fountain, centralized comfortable gathering and living spaces, are designed with the unique needs of our memory care neighbors in mind.
Ongoing Specialized Education
Our entire team, along with our professional care-giving team members have received specialized training in Re-framing Dementia through the Eden Alternative and on-going continued education and training. As new team members join us, they also receive this training, no matter what department they work in. Many of our professional caregivers are also trained by the Alzheimer’s Association’s learning institute. These trainings help ensure we are providing the best care possible for those with memory impairments. Our team is always striving to learn more to provide the best care.
